music
At RUF, the music is a little bit different.
We believe that worshiping through music is an integral part of truly connecting with our Creator. As seen in Scripture, we believe that music can be used to express a wide range of emotion: praise, joy, love, hope, but also lament, sorrow, anguish, and pain. At RUF, while our music may be a bit different than what you may have experienced, you will be welcomed to enjoy a genuine worship experience in joining with God’s children, both past and present, in pouring our hearts out to our Lord. Through Biblically based hymns and praise songs, we seek to ascribe worth to God and his name. Thus, we are committed to music with deep meaning and a strong heritage-- songs that reflect the Scriptures. Many of the songs that we sing are older hymns put to newer music. Paste Magazine - a monthly magazine that we think engages the culture well.
The above Jars of Clay album of hymns uses several songs from our Indelible Grace cds that have emerged out of RUF. Therefore, a group of RUF campus ministers was asked to write devotions for youth groups to go along with each song on the cd and we thought that you might enjoy having them for your own devotional use. You can download them from the "Attached Documents" section at the bottom of this page.
